This picture was taken in Hong Kong by my son, Stephen, and captioned – “What’s Wrong with this guy?” He is actually not looking down – and he might be the only one avoiding neck wrinkles in the process. He might even be looking at real things – at least for a minute, though it does look as though he has a phone in his hand. It’s an important reminder that we are seeing real things less and less. So a good exercise for the coming week is to look around – especially when riding public transportation. Who is along for the ride? Where do they come from? Where are they going? What do we share besides the current route? What would it be like to get to know them better?
